White Walker

So it has been a while since my last post due to moving house but a quick update. I have started to look into poly painting in Zbrush and started to add some base colours onto the white walker it is starting to look more like a white walker now.

White Walker

I started adding more fine detail to this model and its starting to look much more like a white walker. Need to add some more detailing to the hair and then should be good to start to paint.

White Walker

First time sculpting hair but I'm pleased with the results so far, I think i need to add more finer detailing but a solid base to go from.

New Project

I've not blogged for some time but it is due to the file size of my orc, I can no longer continue on it until my new laptop arrives next week to give me more horses to play with.

In the mean time I started a bust sculpt of a white walker. Only spent a few hours on this blocking out the main shapes but I'm pleased with the foundations I have at the moment.

Orc Sculpt - Zbrush

Been a while since my last post but I have been working on the legs. Quite please with the outcome so far.

Still to come is the arms and then once it is all sculpted I will poly paint it and then add armour.

Orc Sculpt - Zbrush

I was looking over more muscle anatomy and found a great diagram that really helped display what way and where the muscles are on the body. It is looking more anatomically correct now and I am much more pleased with the turnout.

Now to move onto the arms and legs so that the muscles on the chest will flow more into other muscles from the shoulders and leg muscles.

Orc Sculpt - Zbrush

I started to work on blocking out the body. Adding in basic muscle mass so far I think it is going well.

Orc Sculpt - Zbrush

Here is a wrap around of the latest version. Touched up a few bits.

Changed the eyes so that they were not as slanted. The back of the head was very pointed from the top view so that got sorted out. Dynameshed the teeth together and added a slight cracking kind of texture to it using the alpha.

Orc Sculpt - Zbrush

Added a few more things to this sculpt.

most likely will add more piercings to the other ear and maybe eyebrow. Thinking about breaking a tooth as if he has been in a fight. Along with battle scars. I changed the jaw line as well as it was to far from the back of the ear and finally fleshed out some muscle tone on the torso.

Orc Sculp - Zbrush

Started working on another orc head this one has more character to it I think than the first one.

My aim is to get a sculpt finished so that I can work on poly painting.

Anatomy Study

I have been working on my anatomy study I did. The topology was all messed up from Dynamesh.

First thing I tried was to use decimation master to optimise the topology and then project it back onto the high poly model. This would keep all of the detail in the model and keep it fairly low to work with. Unfortunately it did not work as I got holes in the mesh when i tried to create it.

I then decided to use Zremesher to create a low poly model with only quads. This needed to have good edge loops around eyes and mouth areas, using the edge guide tool i drew in a few guides and hit Zremesher and within a few seconds had a new low poly mesh.

Created a clone of both high and low and projected them to create this new mesh that now has 6 levels of detail. once that was done I created some poly groups for the arms, legs, body and head.

Head Sculpt

After messing around with the hair for a few more hours I came up with this.

Head Sculpt

Started to use fibermesh in zbrush this is what i came out with.

Anatomy Study

Most recent update to the male character.

Sorted out the fingers, I think they look much better now.

Made the head a little smaller as I thought it was still too big.

I also lowered down the bend behind the knee as I realised it was far to high and would not work with the position of the knee cap.

Head Sculpt

Got a Cintiq 13HD recently first model sculpted on it, orc character.

Anatomy Study

Added in some eyebrows and hair to add more character to this sculpt.

Started to fix the fingers a bit more and scaled them down a little.

Anatomy Study

Close up of the head.

Anatomy Study

Started to block out some hands. They need more work but its all coming together.

I went over the back more defining the muscle groups.

Have changed the forearm muscle as it was going the wrong direction.

Anatomy Study

Last nights work.

I attached the head to the body and scaled so that it looked right.

Realised that the forearm muscle I sculpted in the wrong way, this has been changed. The back muscles need defining more its a little blurred together.

Anatomy Study

Added in some spheres for eyes and modelled in the eye shape. Then shaped the ears a little.

Around 4 hours spent working on that.

Anatomy Study

Started work on the head, got the lips and nose shaped in.

Spent around 5 hours or so.

Anatomy Study

Worked on the legs for around 4 hours, I think so far it is going well. The character seems to be in proportion.

I used medical muscle diagrams to get referencing to where the muscle groups where and then drew them in, smoothing the entire leg over to achieve the final look.

Anatomy Study

Continued working on the arms and the start of the hands.

Spent around 2 hours with the arms.

Anatomy Study

Learning a new programme called Zbrush which allows you to sculpt 3D models.

Decided to start a project studying the human anatomy.

Spent around 4-5 hours with this piece so far.

Penny Board

What it looks like all put together and fully textured.

It has a Defuse map, Normal map, Specular map and Ambient Occlusion map.

Now that the Defuse map has been created I would like to change the colour schemes around and create more colours as Penny the company has many different colours.

Penny Board

Started the texturing the colour scheme is rasta it is the same colours as the one I have.

Penny Board

This is my Penny Board I own one of them and I used it as reference.
